South West London (SW6, SW10, SW11, SW15, SW18, SW19)
Areas of South West London attracting commercial occupation include Fulham, Putney, Wandsworth, Battersea and Wimbledon.
Some of these areas, such as Battersea and Wandsworth have restricted access to central London via public transport and tend to be favoured by smaller companies, often in the more creative industries, whose owners and staff live locally and do not require easy day-to-day access to central London. Fulham, Putney and Wimbledon are also favoured by similar companies, but have better communications.
Companies considering any of these locations should be aware that it is often possible to acquire offices in Central London at no greater cost. The main benefit of the area is to companies with a production / warehousing need, whose clients are in both central London and Surrey.
As an example, we act for Colouration, a high end graphic design & print company, for whom we have acquired various freehold production / warehouse buildings in SW17 over a number of years. We saved them 25% one of these acquisitions by advising them to enter into a short term lease with an option to purchase, because it was of our opinion that the market would fall dramatically.
